Merry May has lived in Tuckahoe, NJ for nearly all of her life. She has been a quilt-maker since the early 1970s, quilting instructor since 1988; lecturer, designer, author, quilt historian, curator, and fabric & button hoarder; writes instructions for Merry Mayhem’s Mystery Quilts, which are enjoyed by quilters worldwide. Merry is well known for her ability to divide complex tasks into step-by-step processes. She is also known for her patience when teaching. She travels throughout the eastern half of the US to teach quilting, and organizes biannual BBQ* (*Bed, Breakfast & Quilt) Weekends in Wildwood Crest, NJ with her Best Quilting Buddy, Lorraine Fenstermacher. Her work is in public and private collections worldwide. In her “spare time” she manages a local cemetery, and owns two tons of buttons (no, really!).
