Students will construct custom quilted sneakers, using Joan’s renowned Happy Feet! Sneaker Kit. This one day workshop is busy, fun, and very rewarding. This class has been exceptionally popular in the past, and this will be the last time Joan offers it at the MAQ retreat. Kit fee covers all supplies necessary to complete the project, except for students’ fabrics and interfacing. There is some pre-class prep required to participate.
Students will order kits by size and color 5 weeks before class. Through a series of weekly emails, Joan will give encouragement and instructions on pre-class quilting and prep. During class, students, prep patterns, mark and cut their fabrics, finish edges, apply narrow bias binding, set eyelets, prep fabric for final assembly, and hand-sew their fabric components to their soles.
