Barbara Dann is the heart and hands behind Alleycat Quiltworks—a professional longarm quilter, quilt-making instructor, and creative encourager known for her relaxed teaching style, sharp eye for design, and just-the-right dose of humor.
With years of experience quilting for clients and teaching across guilds, shops, retreats, and workshops, Barbara brings clarity and confidence to every stitch. She believes quilting should feel joyful and empowering, not intimidating. Her goal is simple: help quilters trust themselves, understand the why behind the techniques, and enjoy the process as much as the finished quilt.
As an educator, Barbara is known for making complex ideas feel approachable. She specializes in Studio 180 Design and Sew Kind of Wonderful tools and techniques, along with Sew On the Go quilt patterns, and teaches them in a clear, relaxed way that helps students feel comfortable, confident, and successful.
Students often describe her classes as:
• Clear and well-organized
• Relaxed and encouraging
• Skill-building without pressure
• Filled with practical tips they actually use later
Barbara travels to guilds, shops, and events to teach classes and present lectures that spark creativity and build confidence.
