Teacher, lecturer and award-winning quiltmaker, Madge Ziegler lectures and conducts workshops throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Born and raised in New Jersey, she and her family now reside in Newark, Delaware. Madge has been teaching quiltmaking since 1979.
She is a charter member of several quilting groups and a member and past officer of regional and national quilt organizations. Her work has been part of national juried and invitational quilt exhibitions, including AQS, QHC and several Mancuso shows in PA and VA. Her quilts and designs have also appeared in books and in quilting publications, including Quilter’s Newsletter, American Quilter, Quilting Today and Love of Quilting.
Some of her quilts appear in corporate collections, including Bank of America.
Madge also does private consulting, conservation, restoration and repair of antique and vintage quilts and enjoys using examples from her extensive collection in her lectures and classes. Current areas of interest include quilt history and conservation, string quilts, 1930’s and vintage kit quilts. Hosting MAQ Studio gives Madge the opportunity to share her over 40 years of experience making quilts and teaching quiltmaking, both by hand and machine.
