516 Introduction to Bargello
(2 Day Class Saturday and Sunday)

  • Description: Do you love the look of Bargello but are intimidated the construction and colors? Don't be. It's easier than it looks. Once you've done this beginner design, you will have the necessary foundation to tackle just about any bargello design that you desire. WARNING: Bargello can be addicting.

523 Intermediate Free Motion Quilting
(2 Day Class Saturday and Sunday)

  • Instructor: Geraldine Wilkins
  • Skill Level: Confident Beginner
  • Description: In this workshop free-motion quilters move beyond basic stippling and venture into continuous background filler designs. The class project is a Half Lone Star wall hanging or a Radiant Star pattern. Also learn how to stabilize a quilt in preparation for free motion quilting. Some of the filler designs are: Leaves and Ivy, Swirls and Flames, Shooting, Falling, and Astronomical Stars
  • In addition to learning several fun filler free-motion quilting designs confident beginning free-motion quilters will learn how to place them in a half lone Star wall quilt or a Radiant Star baby sized quilt. The class includes learning how to choose batting to create the various textures in quilts. We will discuss how to choose thread colors and weights to enhance the chosen free motion quilting design.
