This project is rated moderate by the instructor and it is best for quilters of at least a beginner level.
You will learn the basic steps of wool applique which include tracing the pattern pieces using the freezer paper technique. Students will be provided with a piece of lightweight interfacing and instructed to trace the Pattern Placement Guide (in the pattern) onto the interfacing. Students will cut out applique pieces, use their pattern, and place and pin the applique to a wool background. The applique will be sewn to the background with a whipstich. You will practice many types of embroidery stitches and discuss different threads to use.
