304 Sunday (or Saturday Night) Apron

  • Instructor: Clara Daniels
  • Skill Level: All Levels
  • Description: I love to cook and entertain for my family and friends! But I'm a little messy, stuff gets spilled or splattered and I end up at the table with a dirty top. I've tried several apron patterns, some were too complicated, most did not adequately cover my ample breasts. So, I finally came up with a pattern of my own! It's even reversible so if I do make a mess I can just turn it around. Not every quilter has made a simple garment. This is your chance! You can't get much easier than this. We will use a paper pattern to lay out and cut your fabric. Adjustments will be made for chest size (XS-XL). (Nobody want stains on the side boob!) Then we will sew! It's really fast. You may even have time to start a second apron before class is over! They make great gifts. This is a great class for Sunday at MAQ. No homework, fun, easy and you go home with a finished project.
  • Kit Required: No
  • Required Pattern: Yes
  • Pattern Fee: $12 for reusable paper pattern (cash paid to the instructor in class)

Combine silk and cotton fabrics and many kinds of quilting threads to make a unique piece of art. Then sew the pre-quilted blocks together, add the backing and quilt through all three layers. This is a fun class -- no "rights" or "wrongs," no precision, points-must-match sewing. The possibilities are endless! I have seen watering cans used instead of vases, and cornucopia with fruits and vegetables instead of flowers. You could do a Christmas wallhanging ... there is really no limit.
