  • Description: How much fun is this colorful pincushion! It’s 7" when finished and uses fantastic threads! You will use a 12wt and a 5wt thread on this. You’ll use the blanket stitch for the circles and the stem stitch for the decorative stitching. Oh yeah – we’ll throw in some French knots too!

301 Tucker University - Tucker Trimmer and V-Block

  • Instructor: Julie Belin

  • Description:  Learn the techniques behind the Studio 180 Design (Deb Tucker) tool without committing to yet another project. In this class we’ll investigate the Tucker Trimmer 1 and the V-block tools while creating 4” units that we can mix and match to create our own unique blocks. Once you master the basics of each tool, learn even more techniques with each to create stunning blocks all your quilting friends will envy!

  • Description:  Prism is a beautiful fat quarter friendly quilt. The pattern emerges through a combination of right and left leaning split rectangle units. Pieced border units are constructed with double diagonal seams and a pop of dark color. The Studio 180 Split Rects tool makes this a quick and easy quilt to put together! 303 The Perfect Little Wristlet

  • Instructor: Diane Califano
  • Skill Level: Confident Beginner
  • Description: Make this perfect little wristlet. No bulky seams to sew and no exposed seam allowances in finished purse. The purse is just big enough to carry a cell phone, keys, a few cards and some cash. Clear window in front allows you to see and use your cell phone without taking it out of the bag. (Can be made with or without window.) Interior pockets for cell phone and cards. Variety of strap options allows the purse to be worn as a wristlet, cross body bag or hip pack; or use with no handle as a wallet inside your bigger purse. What could be more versatile?!

305  Criss-Cross Applesauce - A Layer Cake Quilt

  • Instructor: Clara Daniels
  • Skill Level: Intermediate
  • Description: Now it’s time to pull one of those lovely Layer Cakes off of your shelf. Sometimes it’s hard to know how to use those wonderful collections. You will learn how to cut each square to make both the Iron Cross block and its mate, the Plus block. These blocks go together fairly quickly, and require no special tools. I’ll show you how to organize yourself to work on 8 blocks at once. We will make small strip sets and chain piece to keep this work moving. You can use this technique to make a wall hanging, throw, twin or queen size quilt. I will also include several ideas for the offsetting block (see blue blocks) to give you more options.
  • All you need to make any size of this quilt is one Layer Cake or other collection of 10” squares and background, border, and binding material. Or you can cut 42 10” squares from your stash to make this fun quilt. You will need to do a little background precutting homework, but otherwise is pretty easy to get ready for class. Come join the fun and learn a new way to consume a Layer Cake without eating it!

    • Description:  Let’s take your quilting to the next level by using Longarm rulers on your domestic machine. This is a great class to get to learn all you can about rulers, how to use them, and how to quilt with them. We will start with simple and effective ruler techniques and move into using a large assortment of rulers as the day progresses. Some quilters that struggle with free motion, find it much easier using rulers, so whether you are a beginner free motion quilter or have been doing it for years, please come and learn this fun technique!!! You must have a free motion ruler foot to take this class.

    • Description:  Michelle designed this fun, quick and easy quilt that can be made with scraps, fat quarters, yardage, etc… you pick! The pattern offers 4 sizes and 2 setting options. All sizes are made with the same number of blocks and units, the size of the flying geese units determines the size of the quilt.
    • Michelle chose a large floral print for her stars and tone on tone for her Flight block, however you can use the same fabrics, different fabrics, or scraps! In Flight comes together easily with the Studio 180 Design’s Wing Clipper I tool.
    • Learn how to use Deb Tucker's Wing Clipper™ as you make this fabulous quilt. The class will include step-by-step use for Flying Geese and Reverse Flying Geese, as well as tips on piecing and proper pressing techniques to make this quilt perfect!     • Description:  This interactive workshop touches on the basics of restoration, conservation and repair of antique quilts. The workshop will include discussion and trunk show of historical repairs. The hands-on portion will cover basic repairs, restoration techniques, conservation, rescue tips and the recreation of patterns that are damaged beyond repair.
    • Participants will be encouraged to bring a vintage quilt in need of repair to discuss and begin work on during the workshop. A conservation kit is required and can be purchased directly from the instructor for $10.

    • Description:  This is a one-day class which combines painting with acrylics, raw-edge piecing, and free-motion quilting / thread-sketching to complete a 12" x 12" floral art quilt wall hanging.
    • Each student will use acrylic paints to create a floral image that will be enhanced with free-motion thread-sketching. This image will then be sliced into strips and pieces, re-arranged, and sewn to background fabric. The border will then be applied, and meandering free-motion stitching will complete the piece.
